Coastal Flood Statement Issued for Hawaiʻi Island Through Thursday Evening

The National Weather Service (NWS) in Honolulu has issued a Coastal Flood Statement for Hawaiʻi Island, effective from Monday, July 21, 2025, at 3:04 PM HST, through Thursday, July 24, 2025, at 6:00 PM HST.

This statement means that minor coastal flooding is possible, particularly during periods of high tide, which could affect low-lying coastal areas.

The NWS advises residents in these coastal areas to be aware of the potential for minor flooding of vulnerable coastal roads, properties, and infrastructure, especially near the time of high tide. Motorists should avoid driving through flooded roadways, as even shallow water can hide hazards.

The Coastal Flood Statement will remain in effect until its expiration at 6:00 PM HST on Thursday, July 24, unless updated or cancelled by the NWS.
