County Extends the Hours for Some Driverʻs Licensing Offices

Hawaiʻi County will be extending the hours of operation at the Hilo and Kona Driver’s Licensing offices to help process expired or expiring credentials.

The extended hours of operation are as follows:

Hilo

  • Saturday, 10/23 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, 10/30 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Kona

  • Thursday, 10/21, 7:00 a.m. till 5:30 p.m.
  • Friday, 10/22, 7:00 a.m. till 5:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, 10/23, 8:00 a.m. till 1:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, 10/26, 7:00 a.m. till 5:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, 10/27, 7:00 a.m. till 5:30 p.m.

Waimea

  • Saturday, 10/30, 8:00 a.m. till 12:30 p.m.

Additional appointments may be offered online for pre-bookings and walk-ins with credentials that are expired or will be expiring within the next 30 days may be accommodated, pending availability. The Department of Finance would like to thank the community for their continued patience and remind residents that expired driver’s licenses, state IDs, and instructional permits (other than commercial) shall remain valid until November 30, 2021.
