Department of Transportation Extends Public Comment Period for Autonomous Vehicle Regulations

On March 8, 2022, the Department of Transportation (DOT) Highways Division, held a public hearing relating to the proposed adoption of Hawaii Administrative Rules, Chapter 19-150, entitled, “Autonomous Vehicle Regulations.”

The DOT announced on March 15, 2022, that it will be extending the deadline for written comments and will continue to accept comments through 4:30 p.m. on March 31, 2022. The DOT will make and announce its decision on the proposed adoption of administrative rules on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at the DOT Highways Division at 869 Punchbowl Street, Honolulu, Hawaii, 96813, in the media center on the first floor.
