Elderly Waikoloa Man Critically Injured in Rollover Crash

A 74-year-old Waikoloa man is in critical condition following a single-vehicle crash in Waikoloa Village on Wednesday afternoon.

Hawai‘i Police Department officers responded to the collision at approximately 5:11 p.m. at the intersection of Eleele Street and Haena Street. According to a preliminary investigation, the man was driving a blue 2019 Mercedes-Benz 300 SUV southbound on Eleele Street when the vehicle crossed the double-yellow lines, struck a rock wall, and overturned.

The driver sustained multiple injuries and was transported to North Hawai‘i Community Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

Investigation Underway

The Area II Traffic Enforcement Unit has launched a major traffic collision investigation. Authorities have not released additional details as the investigation is ongoing.
