EMERGENCY SHELTERS OPEN IN KAʻŪ

by Thunda

Hawaiʻi County has opened two emergency shelters in Kaʻū as a result of the Kona Low weather system currently affecting Hawaiʻi Island. The shelters are in Pāhala and Naʻālehu at the community centers. Both shelters are pet-friendly, so long as the animals may be contained by a crate or pet carrier. Patrons are asked to bring enough supplies to sustain themselves, their pets, and other household members for a period of 24 hours.

For more information, please contact the Hawaiʻi County Civil Defense Administration at (808) 935-0031 or (808) 935-0032.
