Multiple units from the Hawaii Fire Department (HFD) and the Hawaii Police Department (HPD) responded to a structure fire late Thursday night at 13-3505 Alapai Street.

The call came in at 10:23 p.m., and upon arrival, HFD’s Company 10 discovered a two-story, 12-by-25-foot wooden-framed residential structure fully engulfed in flames. The building appeared to be under construction and was unfinished.

According to HFD, the structure’s interior was empty, with no siding, drywall, or other finishing materials in place. Only the wall frames and roof trusses were burning, making the fire accessible and relatively quick to extinguish.

Firefighters worked to contain the blaze, extinguishing it by 11:45 p.m. Other responding units were canceled en route as Company 10 successfully managed the fire and conducted mop-up operations to address remaining hot spots.

No individuals were found at the scene, and no injuries were reported. HPD remained on-site to investigate, and HFD’s Prevention and Inspection division was notified of the incident.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
