HONOLULU — January 2, 2025
The Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs (DCCA) Business Registration Division (BREG) is reminding businesses in Hawaiʻi to file their annual business reports. The filing period aligns with the entity’s registration date, and reports for businesses registered in the first quarter (January through March) are now due.
Reports can be filed online at https://hbe.ehawaii.gov/annuals and must be submitted by midnight (HST) on March 31, 2025, to avoid late fees.
Filing Fees and Payment Options
- LLCs, Profit Corporations, LLPs: $12.50
- Nonprofit Corporations: $2.50
- Partnerships: $5.00
Payments can be made via credit card, eCheck, or through an eHawaiʻi.gov subscriber account.
Importance of Timely Filing
Maintaining good standing by filing annual reports on time is crucial for businesses to qualify for contracts, loans, and other forms of assistance. Businesses with delinquent filings can still submit reports online, but a $10.00 late fee per year will be assessed.
Filing Periods
Annual report filing periods are divided by registration quarter:
- First Quarter: January–March
- Second Quarter: April–June
- Third Quarter: July–September
- Fourth Quarter: October–December
Beware of Third-Party Scams
BREG warns businesses to be cautious of correspondence from third-party companies claiming to assist with annual report filings. The Business Registration Division does not endorse or use third-party services. For more information, visit BREG Public Alerts.
Transition to Electronic Reminders
Since January 2023, BREG has replaced mailed reminders with an electronic notification system. Businesses can subscribe to email reminders through the MyBusiness Notifications page on Hawaiʻi Business Express: https://hbe.ehawaii.gov/documents/notify/myNotifications.
