HONOLULU – The former bookkeeper of The Legislative Center Inc., Jerry Goode, has been arrested by Honolulu Police on a $400,000 warrant, following an extensive criminal investigation by the Attorney General’s Investigation Division. Goode is accused of stealing approximately $460,000 from various associations managed by the organization.
The alleged theft and forgery activities occurred between 2017 and 2023. Goode faces a total of 64 felony counts, including Theft in the First and Second Degree and Forgery in the Second Degree. These charges include Class B and C felonies, with Class B felonies punishable by up to 10 years of imprisonment.
The case, formally known as State v. Jerry Goode, etc., 1CPC-25-0000748, is being prosecuted by Deputy Attorney General Elyse Oyama with the department’s Criminal Justice Division. Special Agent Briana Hueu with the department’s Investigation Division is the lead investigator.
It is important to note that defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they are found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
