Hāpuna Beach State Park will be opening an hour later than usual on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, due to an ongoing police investigation.

The Hawai’i Police Department announced that the park is expected to open at 8:00 a.m. instead of its regular 7:00 a.m. opening time.

Authorities are requesting that vehicles and beachgoers refrain from entering the park between 6:00 a.m. and the completion of the investigation.

“Hawai‘i Police Department appreciates your patience and we will work to resolve this matter as quickly and efficiently as possible,” stated a press release from the department.

Anyone with questions regarding the delayed opening is encouraged to contact Detective C. Melendez at (808) 209-6896. The nature of the police investigation has not been disclosed at this time.
