Hawaiʻi Island Police Seeking Runaway From Volcano Area

Hilo, Hawaiʻi – Hawaiʻi Island police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating 16-year-old Erlyen Sangau, who has been reported as a runaway.

Sangau was last seen yesterday, Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at approximately 3:00 p.m., on Leila Road in Volcano. At the time, she was wearing a pink t-shirt and a black skirt with floral designs.

She is described as having a tan complexion and thin build, standing about 5 feet 7 inches tall, and weighing approximately 90 pounds. She has black braided, shoulder-length hair and brown eyes.

Police are urging anyone with information on Erlyen Sangau’s whereabouts to call the police department’s non-emergency line at (808) 935-3311.
