HAWAIʻI ISLAND – Motorists on Hawaiʻi Island should anticipate various lane closures and traffic impacts next week, from Saturday, June 14, through Friday, June 20, 2025. These closures are necessary for ongoing road work, maintenance, and utility projects across multiple routes. All schedules are weather permitting and subject to change without further notice.

Volcano Road (Route 11)
- Kurtistown: Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile post 9.7 to 10.2, in the vicinity of Huina Road and Ualani Road, from Monday, June 16 to Friday, June 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for waterline tie-in.
Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11)
- Pāhala: Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile post 45 to 47, in the vicinity of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, from Monday, June 16 to Friday, June 20, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., for cutting grass.
- Pāhala (Weekend Work): Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile post 46 to 48, in the vicinity of Kapapala Ranch, on Saturday, June 14, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., for cutting grass.
- Hōnaunau: Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile post 100.1 to 100.8, in the vicinity of Hōkena Beach Road, from Wednesday, June 18 to Friday, June 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., for pavement repairs.
- Hōnaunau (Weekend Work): Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile post 101 to 103, in the vicinity of Ke Alanui O Aoi and Kiilae Road, on Saturday, June 14, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., for cutting grass.
- Captain Cook: Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile post 108 to 110, in the vicinity of Government Main Road and Nāpoʻopoʻo Road, from Monday, June 16 to Friday, June 20, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., for mowing and shoulder work.
Kamehameha Avenue (Route 19)
- Hilo: Pocket closure possible in either direction at mile post 1.5, vicinity of Bishop Street, from Monday, June 16 to Friday, June 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., for maintaining pocket lane markings and island markings.
Hawaiʻi Belt Road (Route 19)
- Honomū (Weekend Work): Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile post 12 to 14, vicinity of Kolekole Beach Park and Kapehu Stream, on Saturday, June 14, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., for cutting grass.
- Nīnole: Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile post 18 to 21, in the vicinity of Kaihuiki, from Monday, June 16 to Friday, June 20, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., for cutting grass.
- ʻŌʻōkala: Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile post 28 to 29, from Monday, June 16 to Friday, June 20, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., for bridge maintenance.
- Paʻauilo (Weekend Work): Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile post 33 to 35, in the vicinity of Mauna Kea Ranch Road and Antone DeLuz Road, on Saturday, June 14, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., for tree trimming and shoulder work.

Pāhoa Kalapana Road (Route 130)

Kohala Mountain Road (Route 250)
- Kapaʻau (Weekend Work): Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile post 8 to 10, in the vicinity of Kohala Ranch Road, on Saturday, June 14, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., for tree trimming.
- Kapaʻau: Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile post 9 to 10, in the vicinity of Kohala Ranch Road, from Monday, June 16 to Friday, June 20, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., for tree trimming and shoulder work.
Puainako Street (Route 2000)
- Hilo: Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile post 0.5 to 2.2, in the vicinity of Kanoelehua Avenue and Komohana Street, from Monday, June 16 to Friday, June 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for striping and installing new raised pavement markers.
- Hilo (Night Work): Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile post 0.5 to 2.2, in the vicinity of Kanoelehua Avenue and Komohana Street, from Monday, June 16 to Friday, June 20, from 5 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., for installation of asphalt curbs.
