Hawaiʻi County Liquor Commission to Consider Licenses for Hilo and Kona Businesses

Hilo, Hawaiʻi – The County of Hawaiʻi Liquor Commission has scheduled a public hearing on Thursday, October 2, 2025, to consider multiple applications for liquor licenses from businesses in both Hilo and Kailua-Kona. The hearing will take place at 10:00 a.m. in the Hilo Meeting Room of the Department of Liquor Control.

Protests and objections to the granting of a license may be made by any registered voter or property owner within 500 feet of a business’s premises. All protests must be filed with the Liquor Commission before or at the public hearing.

Here is a breakdown of the applications the commission will consider:


Sean’s Kitchen LLC (Kailua-Kona)


Big Island Booch Inc. (Hilo) Big Island Booch Inc., which operates The Booch Bar, has submitted two applications for its Hilo locations.

Application No. 25-02: This application is for the business located at 110 Keawe Street. The company is seeking to add this location to its pending Small Craft Producer Pub license, increase the size of its licensed premises by 1,200 square feet, and change its license category from a Restaurant General license (Category B1) to a Category B2 license.efore or at the final public hearing and must be dated, signed, and include the address of each person filing the protest.

Application No. 25-01: This application is for an original Small Craft Producer Pub liquor license, Category A, for the location at 230 Kekūanaʻoa Street.
