Get ready for some Easter fun! The County of Hawaiʻi, in partnership with various community organizations, is sponsoring a series of free Easter events across the island, offering a range of activities for keiki and their families. From egg hunts and games to live music and delicious food, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
The festivities kick off this Sunday, April 13th, at Herbert Shipman Park in Keaʻau with a “Keaʻau Family Fun Day” from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Attendees can look forward to a packed day featuring multiple egg hunts (including an inclusive egg hunt), thrilling waterslides, bouncing fun in bounce houses, delectable offerings from food trucks, creative face painting, lively music, and a chance to capture a memorable photo with the Easter Bunny himself. For more information about the Keaʻau event, call 808-989-7785.
The Easter fun continues on Friday, April 18th, with two simultaneous events. In Hilo, the “Easter Extravaganza” will be held at Dr. Francis F.C. Wong Stadium. Gates open at 9 a.m. and the day will be filled with an egg hunt, a jumping castle, classic lawn games, face painting, snacks and food vendors, and even keiki ID services. The egg hunt is specifically designed for children ages 5-12 with designated times: 11 a.m. (ages 5-6), 11:30 a.m. (ages 7-9), and 12 p.m. (ages 10-12). Organizers are providing bags for egg collecting, so baskets are not needed. Parents and guardians are kindly requested to remain off the field during the egg hunts.
On the same day, families in the south can head to the Pāhala Community Center for an “Easter Family Fun Day” from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This event will feature egg hunts, exciting prizes, refreshments (while supplies last), engaging entertainment, and informative booths. For more information on the Pāhala event, call 808-928-3102.
With events planned across the island, the County of Hawaiʻi is bringing the spirit of Easter directly to its community. Don’t miss out on these free, family-friendly events!
