Hawaiʻi Island State Road and Highway Lane Closures Scheduled for the Week of April 3 – April 9

Contraflows will not be running on April 2, Good Friday

— MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) —

1) HILO (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) in both directions between mile markers 0.0 and 3, Banyan Drive and E Palai Street, on Friday, April 2, through Sunday, April 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., for landscape maintenance.

2) HILO (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) in both directions between mile markers 4 and 6, Lama Street and Wiliama Street, on Friday, April 2, through Sunday, April 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., for road assessment work.

 

3) HILO

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) in both directions between mile markers 11 and 13, on Monday, April 5, through Friday, April 9, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., for landscape maintenance. Traffic flow in both directions will be maintained through alternating traffic control (contraflow).

 

4) KAU

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) in both directions between mile markers 60 and 61.5, on Monday, April 5, through Friday, April 9, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., for landscape maintenance. Traffic flow in both directions will be maintained through alternating traffic control (contraflow).

 

5) KONA

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) in both directions between mile markers 91 and 93, Mamalahoa Highway and Ohia Malu Road, on Monday, April 5, through Friday, April 9, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., for landscape maintenance. Traffic flow in both directions will be maintained through alternating traffic control (contraflow).

 

6) KONA (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) in both directions between mile markers 93 and 95, Ohia Malu Road and Kukui O Pae Place, on Friday, April 2, through Sunday, April 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., for landscape maintenance.

— HAWAII BELT ROAD (ROUTES 19/190) —

1) HILO

Hawaii County has created a detour on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) at mile marker 11.2 for the closure of the Makea Stream Bridge. Motorists should exercise caution and obey signage in the work area.

 

2) HILO (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) in both directions between mile markers 16 and 18, Leopolino Road and Hawaii Belt Road, on Friday, April 2, through Sunday, April 4, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., for landscape maintenance.

 

3) HILO

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) in both directions between mile markers 21 and 24, Huli’ili’i Stream and Hawaii Belt Road, on Monday, April 5, through Friday, April 9, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., for landscape maintenance. Traffic flow in both directions will be maintained through alternating traffic control (contraflow).

                    

4) KONA

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 190) in both directions between mile markers 30 and 32, on Monday, April 5, through Friday, April 9, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., for landscape maintenance. Traffic flow in both directions will be maintained through alternating traffic control (contraflow).

 

5) KONA (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 190) in both directions between mile markers 31 and 33, Hawaii Belt Road and Old Government Mauka Road, on Friday, Apirl 2, through Sunday, April 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., for landscape maintenance and tree trimming work.

AKONI PULE HIGHWAY (ROUTE 270) —

1) KOHALA (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure on Akoni Pule Highway (Route 270) in both directions between mile markers 21.5 and 22.5, Kapaau Road and Halaula Maulili Road, on Friday, April 2, through Sunday, April 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for landscape maintenance.

2) KOHALA

Single lane closure on Akoni Pule Highway (Route 270) in both directions between mile markers 22.5 and 23.5, Halaula Maulili Road and Akoni Pule Highway, on Monday, April 5, through Friday, April 9, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for landscape maintenance. Traffic flow in both directions will be maintained through alternating traffic control (contraflow).
