Hawaii Community Correctional Center (HCCC) Confirms Two New Covid Cases

The Hawaii Community Correctional Center (HCCC) confirms two (2) recently admitted inmates have positive COVID-19 test results. An additional four (4) inmate test results came back negative. The positive cases are in intake-related quarantine housing. The facility has enacted its pandemic protocol to suspend all inmate movement going out of the facility as a precaution. HCCC will continue to take new admissions. The facility health care staff and the Department of Health have initiated contact tracing and are coordinating voluntary testing.COVID-19 testing is continuously being conducted statewide at all facilities.

The inmate test results received at other facilities are as follows:

  • Oahu Community Correctional Center – 45 negative inmate test results
  • Maui Community Correctional Center – 6 negative inmate test results
  • Women’s Community Correctional Center – 2 negative inmate test results
  • Halawa Correctional Facility – 1 negative inmate test result

The Department of Public Safety continues to encourage all staff and inmates to voluntarily receive the COVID vaccination.
