I hereby certify that the following bills passed final reading at the meeting of the Hawai’i County Council on August 17, 2022, by vote as listed below

Ordinance 22-90 (Bill 182):

An Ordinance amending Chapter 19, Article 10, Section 19-71, of the Hawai’i County Code 1983 (2016 edition, as amended), relating to Real Property Tax Exemptions.

Amendments to the ordinance is to increase the exemption amount for principal homes and for qualifying taxpayers who are 60 years of age or over.

AYES: Council Members Chung, Inaba, Kaneali’i-Kleinfelder, Kierkiewicz, Kimball, Lee Loy, Richards, Villegas and Chair David – 9.

NOES: None. ABSENT: None. EXCUSED: None.


Ordinance 22-91 (Bill 186):

An Ordinance amending Chapter 19, Article 10, Section 19-89.5, of the Hawai’i County Code 1983 (2016 edition, as amended), relating to Real Property Tax Exemptions for Kuleana Lands.

Amends requirements for Kuleana Lands Tax Exemptions.

AYES: Council Members Chung, Inaba, Kaneali’i-Kleinfelder, Kierkiewicz, Kimball, Lee Loy, Richards, Villegas and Chair David – 9.

NOES: None. ABSENT: None. EXCUSED: None.


Ordinance 22-92 (Bill 188):

An Ordinance to amend Ordinance No. 22-63, as amended, the Operating Budget for the County of Hawai’i for the Fiscal Year ending June 30, 2023.

AYES: Council Members Chung, Inaba, Kaneali’i-Kleinfelder, Kierkiewicz, Kimball, Lee Loy, Richards, Villegas and Chair David – 9.

NOES: None. ABSENT: None. EXCUSED: None.


Ordinance 22-93 (Bill 189):

An Ordinance to amend Ordinance No. 22-63, as amended, the Operating Budget for the County of Hawai’i for the Fiscal Year ending June 30, 2023.

AYES: Council Members Chung, Inaba, Kaneali’i-Kleinfelder, Kierkiewicz, Kimball, Lee Loy, Richards, Villegas and Chair David – 9.

Ordinance 22-94 (Bill 190):

An Ordinance amending Chapter 18, Article 4, Section 18-90, of the Hawai’i County Code 1983 (2016 edition, as amended), relating to Fares for Public Transportation.

Amends the "Suspension of fares" from December 31, 2023 to December 31,  2025

AYES: Council Members Chung, Inaba, Kaneali’i-Kleinfelder, Kierkiewicz, Kimball, Lee Loy, Richards, Villegas and Chair David – 9.

NOES: None. ABSENT: None. EXCUSED: None.
