Hawaii Fire Department Rescues Hiker from Pololu Valley in Kohala

Multiple Fire Companies responded at 7:15 am this morning for a hiker complaining of knee pain in Pololu 3ed Valley in Kohala.

The reporting party stated an injured hiker on a sloped beach was unable to hike back out to Pololu Lookout. Fire Personal extracted the Patient out of the valley via Hawaii Fire Department Helicopter to an awaiting Emergency Medical Services Ambulance at a designated landing zone. The patient was then treated and transported to Kohala Hospital in Stable Condition.

The patient later stated the injury was caused by an “Old Injury Flare up”.
