HONOLULU – The Hawaiʻi Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) Division of Forestry and Wildlife (DOFAW) has announced that hunting licenses and stamps for the upcoming 2025-2026 hunting season will become available for purchase starting June 15. Hunters will have until June 30, 2026, to acquire the necessary permits for the new season.

DOFAW is offering multiple convenient options for hunters to obtain their licenses and stamps. The quickest method is through the online purchasing portal, accessible via the hunting homepage by clicking “Get a License.” This online system allows for credit card payments.

For those who prefer in-person transactions, licenses and stamps can also be purchased at any DOFAW branch office or through authorized hunting license vendors. Information on local vendors can be obtained by contacting a DOFAW office.

It is crucial for all hunters to possess a valid state of Hawaiʻi hunting license, as it is a mandatory requirement for hunting on both public and private lands. Hunting activities for game mammals are regulated under Hawaiʻi Administrative Rules Title 13, Chapter 123, while game bird hunting falls under Title 13, Chapter 122. Complete rule chapters and additional hunting information are readily available on the DOFAW website.

Hunters are also encouraged to utilize the OuterSpatial mobile application for electronic hunter check-in and check-out procedures, as well as for purchasing special tags and permits online. DOFAW advises users to ensure the application is fully downloaded to their mobile devices before entering hunting areas to avoid issues with slow download speeds or areas without cellular service.

For individuals without internet access, local DOFAW offices can be reached via phone: Kaua’i (808-274-3433), O’ahu (808-973-9778), Maui (808-984-8100), Moloka’i (808-553-1745), Lāna’i (808-565-7916), Hilo (808-974-4221), Kamuela (808-887-6063), or the DOFAW administration office in Honolulu (808-587-0166).
