Hawai‘i Island Police Ask for Public’s Assistance Finding Missing Kona Man Hideyori Toyotomi (LOCATED)

Update: Hawai‘i Island police report that 84-year-old Hideyori Toyotomi, who was reported missing, has been located on Oahu in good health.

Hawai’i Island police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating 84-year-old Hideyori Toyotomi, who was reported as a missing person.

Toyotomi, who suffers from dementia, is described as Japanese, 5’-7” tall, approximately 160 pounds, with long, straight, white hair.

He was last seen on the afternoon of Tuesday, February 23, 2021, sitting on a sidewalk on Kuakini Highway, north of the intersection with Henry Street in Kailua-Kona, wearing a white t-shirt, black shorts, and slippers. He is known to frequent the above-mentioned area, as well as the Kailua Pier, and the general area of Hilo.

Police ask anyone with information regarding Toyotomi’s whereabouts to call Officer Mara Gaertner of Kona Patrol at (808) 326-4646 ext. 253 or the police department’s non-emergency number at (808) 935-3311.
