Hawaii Police Identify Kona Shooting Victim

Hawai’i Island Police has identified the person who died in Tuesday’s (May 25, 2021) “End of the World” shooting, as 46-year-old Joey Richmond of Kailua-Kona.

Shortly after 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, police responded to a report of an unresponsive male party lying on the ground at Keauhou Kainaliu Beach Road, commonly known as “End of the World”.

Detectives from the Area II Criminal Investigation Section responded and are continuing the investigation, which has been classified as second degree murder.

An autopsy conducted on May 26, 2021, show that Richmond died from multiple gunshots wounds to the body, and that manner of death is homicide.
