UPDATE: 16-year-old female, Shaelynn Gomes, was located in Hilo on January 6, 2023
Hawaii Island Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a juvenile female who was reported as a runaway.
15-year-old Shaelynn Gomes was last seen in the vicinity of the 8 ½ Mile Camp in Keaau on August 18, 2022, at approximately 3:00 PM. She is described as being 5’ tall, 100 pounds, with a slim build, long brown hair, brown eyes, and an olive complexion. Gomes has no distinguishing scars or marks, but does have a tattoo of a dove on her right shoulder. She was last seen wearing a woodland camouflage jacket, black pants, and unknown footwear.
