HILO — The County of Hawai‘i Mass Transit Agency has announced that all Hele-On bus and paratransit services will be temporarily suspended on Sunday, February 2, 2025. This pause in service is necessary to conduct Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) training for all agency employees and contractors.

Regular bus service will resume at 3:15 a.m. on Monday, February 3.

Passengers are encouraged to plan ahead and seek alternative transportation options for February 2, such as taxis, Lyft, or Uber. A comprehensive list of available taxicab operators can be found at www.heleonbus.hawaiicounty.gov.

The annual training aims to ensure that the Hele-On team remains in full compliance with ADA regulations and Federal Transit Administration requirements, enhancing the service’s accessibility and safety.

For further information, passengers can contact Hele-On at (808) 961-8744, email heleonbus@hawaiicounty.gov, or visit the official website at www.heleonbus.hawaiicounty.gov.
