The current west-northwest swell continues to generate elevated surf along most north and west facing shores this morning. This swell will gradually subside later today.
Surf can be expected to be around the 6 to 8 foot range. Impacts expected are moderate. Expect strong breaking waves, shore break, and strong longshore and rip currents making swimming difficult and dangerous. Beachgoers, swimmers, and surfers should heed all advice given by ocean safety officials and exercise caution.
The High Surf Advisory also extends to north and west facing shores of Niʻihau, Kauaʻi, Oʻahu, and Molokai. North facing shores of Maui also to be affected.
Unmonitored lands and waters in the impact area described in the alert will also be impacted.
If conditions change before expiration or the event needs to be extended, an update or cancellation will be issued.
