High Surf Advisory Issued for West Facing Shores on Hawai’i Island

The National Weather Service has issued a High Surf Advisory for the west-facing shores of North Kohala, South Kohala, North Kona, and South Kona districts of Hawai’i Island. The advisory is in effect through [forecasted end time].

A High Surf Advisory means that surf will be higher than normal, creating dangerous shore breaks and strong currents that could lead to injury or death. Beach-goers, swimmers, and surfers are urged to follow all advice from ocean safety officials and use caution when entering the water.
