Hawaii Island – The National Weather Service has issued a High Surf Warning for all west-facing shores of Hawaii Island, stretching from Upolu Point in North Kohala to South Point in Ka‘u. The warning is in effect from noon today through Sunday night.

Residents and visitors are urged to take caution, as the warning indicates the potential for large breaking surf, significant shore break, and dangerous currents, posing risks of injury or death.

Ocean Safety Officials advise the public to heed all safety instructions. Property owners along the affected shores are encouraged to take necessary precautions. Beach parks may close without notice due to hazardous conditions.

Stay informed and prioritize safety during this period of high surf.
