The County of Hawaiʻi Department of Public Works Engineering Division, in partnership with Yamada and Sons, Inc., will be conducting road paving on Makaʻala Street, Holomua Street, Poʻokela Street, and Wiwoʻole Street. Starting November 4, there will be one-lane closures to prepare the roadway for resurfacing. Work will take place Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting. Please anticipate one-lane traffic in the affected areas.
DPW is requesting the public’s assistance that no cars be parked on the roadside for the duration of the resurfacing work. Expect one lane closure during the day, with Hawai’i Police Department directing traffic. Weekly updates are provided on the Department of Public Works website located at https://hawaii-county-public-works-hawaiicountygis.hub.arcgis.com/.
