
HILO, HAWAII – Hawai‘i Island police are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a male suspect wanted for questioning in connection with a robbery that occurred at a gas station on Kamehameha Avenue in Hilo on Saturday, March 29, 2025. (Report No.: 25-029037)
According to police reports, a male suspect entered the gas station store, located on Kamehameha Avenue, and proceeded directly to the beverage refrigerators. Witnesses say the suspect removed two twelve-packs of alcoholic beverages and then exited the store without paying for the items.
A store employee confronted the suspect outside the premises, requesting the return of the unpaid merchandise. However, the suspect allegedly refused and subsequently assaulted the employee before fleeing the scene on a red bicycle. The suspect was last seen traveling south on Pauahi Street.
The victim was able to capture a cell phone image of the suspect as he left the store with the stolen goods. Police have released this image to the public in hopes of aiding in the identification of the individual.
The suspect is described as a local male, approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall, with dark colored hair. He is reported to have a distinctive heart tattoo on the right side of his face and tattoos on his chest.
The Area I Criminal Investigation Section is actively investigating this incident.
