Hawai‘i police have arrested and charged 34-year-old Tabree Pea, of Hilo, with several offenses following a domestic-type incident that led to a male victim being stabbed in their home on Monday morning, October 24, 2022.
The charges against Pea stem from an incident reported shortly before 9:30 a.m. Monday, when South Hilo patrol officers responded to an unknown type of disturbance at the couple’s Puueo Street residence. Officers contacted a male party bleeding from his upper left leg area who reported being stabbed by Pea during an argument in their residence.
Pea fled the scene on foot heading towards the downtown Hilo area. She was located a short time later near the Hilo Library and arrested without further incident. During the arrest, a zip-lock bag with a crystal-like substance was located on the ground next to Pea and a glass smoking pipe with residue was in her possession. The substance and residue in the smoking glass pipe tested presumptive positive for methamphetamines.
At 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 25, after conferring with the County Prosecutor’s Office. Prosecutors charged Pea with second-degree assault, abuse of a family household member, and third-degree promotion of a dangerous drug. Her bail is set at $5,000.
Pea remains in police custody pending her initial court appearance scheduled for Wednesday, October 26, in Hilo District Court.
