Today, Prosecuting Attorney Kelden Waltjen announced that 27-year-old Adam Kahekili Kepo‘o of Honoka‘a, was arrested on a Grand Jury Indictment warrant. Bail is set at $300,500.00.
As the Indictment alleges, Kepo‘o, who was previously convicted of Abuse of Family of Household Member on October 7, 2020, is charged with 27 offenses including two counts of Sexual Assault in the First Degree, three counts of Terroristic Threatening in the First Degree, three counts of Assault in the Second Degree, five counts of Felony Abuse of Family or Household Member, eight counts of Misdemeanor Abuse of Family or Household Member, and one count each of Kidnapping, Unlawful Imprisonment in the Second Degree, Terroristic Threatening in the Second Degree, Attempted Felony Abuse of Family or Household Member, Unauthorized Possession of Confidential Personal Information, and Theft in the Fourth Degree. The offenses are alleged to have been committed between February 1, 2021, and April 23, 2021.
Today, Kepo‘o made his initial appearance in Hilo Circuit Court before Judge Peter Kubota, who maintained bail at $300,500.00 and ordered Kepo‘o to appear in Kona Circuit Court on May 20, 2021, for Arraignment and Plea.
The lead investigator is Detective Brandon Mansur, Area II Juvenile Aid Section, Hawai‘i Police Department. The case is being prosecuted by Sexual Assault Unit, Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Annaliese Wolf, Hawai‘i County Office of the Prosecuting Attorney.
The charges are merely allegations, and the Defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
