Kalapana Transfer Station in Puna will be closed in observance of Christmas Day and New Year’s Day to allow employees to spend time with their families. The transfer station will reopen the day after both holidays on December 26 and January 2, 2022.
The County of Hawaiʻi Solid Waste Division thanks residents for their understanding and respectfully reminds folks that littering or illegally dumping any materials at closed transfer stations will not be tolerated.
