Kealakehe Transfer Station Closes Early Due to Staffing Shortage

KEALAKEHE, HAWAI’I — The County of Hawai’i Department of Environmental Management has announced the early closure of the Kealakehe Transfer Station today, January 6, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. The early closure is due to a temporary staffing shortage.

The transfer station is expected to resume its regular operating hours on Tuesday, January 7, 2025.

The Department of Environmental Management has apologized for the inconvenience caused by the unexpected early closure and has expressed gratitude for the public’s patience and understanding.
