Kona Man Charged with Unauthorized Control of Propelled Vehicle, Unauthorized Entry into a Motor Vehicle, Identity Theft, and Drug Offenses

Prosecuting Attorney Kelden Waltjen announced that a Kona man, 37 year-old William Holbron-Kealoha, was charged in relation to a Dodge Charger and Hyundai Elantra, originally reported stolen on April 8, 2022. Holbron-Kealoha was also charged in relation to an unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle incident at Kekaha Kai State Park and several unauthorized credit card transactions at the Queen’s Marketplace, all of which took place on April 4, 2022.


As the Complaint alleges, Holbron-Kealoha, a felony repeat offender with prior convictions for Kidnapping and Robbery in the Second Degree, was charged with nine (9) offenses including Unauthorized Entry Into a Motor Vehicle in the First Degree (enter or remain unlawfully in a motor vehicle with intent to commit theft), two counts of Unauthorized Control of a Propelled Vehicle in the First Degree, Identity Theft in the Second Degree (made a transmission of any personal information of another by any oral, written, or electronic statement with intent to commit theft in the second degree), Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card, Theft in the Second Degree (exert unauthorized control over the property of another, the value of which exceeded $750), Theft of Credit Card, Promoting a Dangerous Drug in the Third Degree, and Prohibited Acts Related to Drug Paraphernalia. If convicted as charged, Holbron-Kealoha faces sentencing to a mandatory prison term based on his prior felony convictions.


Holbron-Kealoha is scheduled to make his initial appearance in Kona District Court on Monday. He remains in custody in lieu of $95,250.00 bail.


Last week, Prosecutors charged 27 year-old Siekisiteni Fukofuka, Jr., also of Kona, as the other responsible party in relation to the unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle incident at Kekaha Kai State Park and unauthorized credit card transactions at the Queen’s Marketplace. Fukofuka, remains in custody in lieu of $9,250.00 bail.


The investigation was handled by Officers Bailey Langsner, Charles Caldwell-Ka‘ai, Dallas Arce, and Conrad Iranon, Kona Patrol, and members of the Area II Vice Section, Hawai‘i Police Department. The case is being prosecuted by First Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Stephen Frye.


The charges are merely allegations, and the Defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
