A 29-year-old Kailua-Kona man died following a single-vehicle collision on Saturday. Sept. 25, 2021, on Pu ‘u Honua Road at the 4-mile marker in Napo‘opo‘o.

The man has been positively identified as Kalamaokalani Keith Kelekolio-Crivello.

Responding to a 6:36 p.m. call, police determined that Kelekolio-Crivello was operating a white 2005 Honda CBR600 motorcycle heading south when he ran off of the roadway and lost control. The motorcycle then struck several large rocks, ejecting the rider. Kelekolio-Crivello was transported to the Kona Community Hospital where he was later pronounced dead at 11:35 p.m.

Kelekolio-Crivello was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Police believe that speed and impairment are possible factors in the crash.

An autopsy has been ordered to determine the exact cause of death.
