Kona Women Charged for Methamphetamine, Fentanyl, and Heroin Offenses

Prosecuting Attorney Kelden Waltjen announced that two Kona women, 44 year-old Jennifer Conway and 38 year-old Devon Henson, were arrested and charged for methamphetamine, fentanyl, and heroin offenses which occurred on January 14th in Kona.

As the Complaint alleges, Conway was charged with five (5) offenses including two counts of Promoting a Dangerous Drug in the Second Degree (possession of twenty-five (25) or more capsules, tablets, ampules, or dosage units of fentanyl), Promoting a Dangerous Drug in the Second Degree (possession of over an eighth of an ounce of methamphetamine), Promoting a Dangerous Drug in the Third Degree (possession of any amount of methamphetamine), and Prohibited Acts Related to Drug Paraphernalia. Conway remains in custody in lieu of $85,250.00 bail.

As the Complaint alleges, Henson was charged with eleven (11) offenses including two counts of Promoting a Dangerous Drug in the First Degree (possession of over an ounce of methamphetamine), Attempted Promoting a Dangerous Drug in the First Degree (attempted distribution of over an eighth of an ounce of methamphetamine), two counts of Promoting a Dangerous Drug in the Second Degree (possession of twenty-five (25) or more capsules, tablets, ampules, or dosage units of fentanyl), two counts of Promoting a Dangerous Drug in the Second Degree (possession of over an eighth of an ounce of methamphetamine), three counts of Promoting a Dangerous Drug in the Second Degree (possession of over an eighth of an ounce of heroin), and Prohibited Acts Related to Drug Paraphernalia. At the time of her arrest, Henson was also wanted for an outstanding district court warrant. Henson remains in custody in lieu of $66,025.00 bail.

Both women are scheduled to make their initial appearances today in Kona District Court.

The investigation was handled by Officers Adam Cho and Bradley Llanes, Area II Vice Section, Hawai`i Police Department.

The charges are merely allegations, and the Defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
