Lane Closure and Traffic Reroute at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park Entrance

HAWAIʻI VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK – Visitors to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park should anticipate temporary lane closures and traffic reroutes at the park entrance station starting Monday, June 30, and continuing through Thursday, July 3.

The middle lane at the park entrance station will be closed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week during this period to facilitate essential curb work. Due to the narrowness of the lane during construction, a temporary traffic reroute will be implemented.

Here’s what visitors need to know:

The park advises that if an eruption episode occurs during this construction period, visitors should expect possible delays. To help minimize wait times and speed up entry, the park recommends purchasing passes online in advance via Recreation.gov.

The park extends its mahalo (thank you) for visitors’ patience and understanding during these necessary improvements.
