Hawaiʻi County Department of Public Works Engineering Division, alongside Jas W. Glover, Ltd, will
be working on Hurricane Lane Damage Repairs to the Laupāhoehoe Culvert.
There will be alternating road closures from 7:00 am to 3: 00 pm at Manowaiopae Stream and Old
Mamalahoa Highway from Monday, June 13 to June 17. All local traffic will be allowed through the
Kuwaikahi Stream and Old Mamalahoa access road.
The following week, June 20-24, Kuwaikahi Stream and Old Mamalahoa access road will be closed,
and all traffic will be allowed through Manowaiopae Stream and Old Mamalahoa Highway access
road.
The alternating week road closures will continue until August 23, 2022. Flaggers and/or officers will
be directing traffic, and message boards will be posted on Hawaii Belt Highway.
