Hilo, Hawaiʻi – A coordinated, islandwide operation conducted last week resulted in the arrest of 22 individuals wanted for various offenses across Hawaiʻi Island. The initiative, which took place from June 23 to June 27, 2025, involved a collaborative effort between the Hawaiʻi Police Department and several key federal and state law enforcement partners.
Participating agencies included the United States Marshals Service Hawaiʻi Task Force, the Department of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the Division of Conservation and Resources Enforcement (DOCARE), and the State of Hawaiʻi Department of Law Enforcement’s Sheriff Division. This joint effort aimed to apprehend wanted individuals and enhance public safety throughout the island.
Among those arrested and charged were individuals facing serious allegations, ranging from felony abuse and probation violations to financial crimes, firearm offenses, and violent assaults. Bail amounts varied significantly, reflecting the severity of the charges.
Notable arrests include:
- Nathan Eugene Cakin, 45, of Ocean View: Charged with violations of conditions of release on bail and prohibited firearm possession, with bail set at $100,000. Cakin’s arrest followed a barricaded standoff, as previously reported by the Hawaiʻi Police Department.
- Travis Demello-Oda, 29, of Hilo: Charged with numerous offenses including probation violation, first-degree unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle, multiple counts of theft (including credit card and identity theft), and fraudulent use of a credit card. His bail was set at $277,000.
- William Alan Peter Kapualoha Kaohu, 54, of Kailua-Kona: Arrested on a federal warrant for an array of drug offenses. He was released to HSI’s custody and is currently being held at the federal detention center in Oʻahu.
- Lyam E.H. Zelber, 25, of Mountain View: Contacted by Puna patrol officers and subsequently charged with probation violation, unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle, multiple unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle counts, first-degree theft, second-degree theft, first-degree burglary, second-degree assault, first-degree terroristic threatening, and deadly weapons prohibited. His bail was set at $63,600.

- Cody Kukui Baniaga, 33, of Captain Cook (Probation violation)
- Mark Allen Beard Sr., 63, of Ocean View (First-degree terroristic threatening)
- Travise Ezra Burnett, 50, of Hauula (Probation violations)
- Jackie Napuaokalani Carter, 31, of Hilo (Probation violation)
- Francis P. Crivello Jr., 56, of Captain Cook (Probation violation)
- Shane Antolin Dacuycuy, 48, of Mountain View (Violations of conditions of release)
- John Robert Fillekes Jr., 62, of Kailua-Kona (Failure to appear)
- Robert Carlos Garcia, 35, of Kailua-Kona (Criminal contempt of court)
- Kaynan Kaliko Kobayashi-Kawelo, 22, of Keaʻau (Violations of conditions of release)
- Sheldon James Macabio, 52, of Pāhoa (Probation violation, forgery, theft)
- Raven Cheyenne Magrowski-Kutz, 25, of Kailua-Kona (Criminal contempt of court; released on drug offenses pending investigation)
- Novaluna Luna Neri, 34, of Kailua-Kona (Criminal contempt of court)
- Shari Lee Pumeha Pajimola, 40, of Kailua-Kona (Violations of conditions of release; held without bail)
- Jovanni Domenden Ramos, 30, of Kailua-Kona (Failure to appear)
- Cyrus Kendall Reaume, 41, of Keaʻau (Abuse family or household member, terroristic threatening, assault)
- Solomon Jhon Whitney, 40, of Hilo (Probation violations)
- Molly Yacapin, 67, of Waimea (Promoting dangerous and harmful drugs)
