The Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) has released a new online service that allows hunters to purchase hunting tags and permits online. The service can be accessed by going to Go Hunt Hawaii external link and selecting Tags & Permits.
The process is easy. The hunter selects the tag or permit they want to purchase, logs in, completes the form, makes payment online, and then downloads the tag or permit. The tag or permit will also be available for download 24/7 from the hunter’s My Tags & Permits page.
Previously, hunters had to physically go to the agency’s office and purchase hunting tags over the counter. Alternatively, hunting tags could be purchased via cash on the day of the hunt at a check-in station. Now, hunters have the option of contact-less purchasing.
“This update will offer resident and non-resident hunters a convenient and safe way to purchase online tags and permits,” said Jason Omick, a Wildlife Biologist. “Our ultimate vision is to have Go Hunt Hawaii be the sole place hunters will need to visit for all hunting services and information. Adding online tags and permits has put our agency one step closer to this goal.”
The DLNR Go Hunt Hawaii service was created in partnership with NIC Hawaii, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tyler Technologies external link
