As the Complaint alleges, Sullivan, who has three (3) prior felony convictions, including convictions for Assault Against a Law Enforcement Officer in the First Degree, Methamphetamine Trafficking in the Second Degree, and Habitual Property Crime, was charged with four (4) offenses including, Ownership or Possession Prohibited (felon in possession of a firearm), Place to Keep Pistol or Revolver, Place to Keep Ammunition, and Restriction on Possession of Electric Gun. The most serious offenses, Ownership or Possession Prohibited and Place to Keep Pistol or Revolver are both class B felony offenses that carry a maximum penalty of ten (10) years in prison.
Sullivan will make his initial appearance today in Hilo District Court. He remains in custody in lieu of $52,000.00 bail.
The investigation was handled by Detective Jeremy Kubojiri, Area I Criminal Investigation Section, Hawai‘i Police Department. The case is being prosecuted by Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Kimberly Angay.
The charges are merely allegations, and the Defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
