Partial Reopening of Glenwood Recycling & Transfer Station on August 16

by Thunda

The Solid Waste Division will partially reopen its facility at the Glenwood Recycling and Transfer Station. Beginning Tuesday, August 16, residents will have access to solid waste disposal and glass recycling only (Cardboard recycling remains temporarily suspended).

A fallen tree damaged the facility’s structure and prompted closure of the station in June. The Department is happy to announce the reopening of the station to the community sooner than previously announced; however, residents are kindly reminded that this is a partial reopening as the Department works toward completing final repairs before the end of the year.

Regular operations and services will resume as follows:

  • Glenwood Recycling and Transfer Station will resume partial operations on Sunday, Tuesday, and Friday beginning August 16.
  • Household waste will be accepted 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and recycling services will be open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cardboard will not be accepted.
  • Volcano Recycling and Transfer Station will be open only on Monday, Thursday, and Saturday. It will not be open on August 16.
  • Household waste will be accepted 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and recycling services will be open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
