Hawai’i Island police have arrested and charged 31-year-old George A. Labrador of Hilo with burglary and theft offenses.

At 9:22 a.m. on Sunday, April 11, 2021, Hilo patrol officers responded to a burglary of a business in the 200 block of Waianuenue Avenue in Hilo.

Officers were able to identify Labrador as a suspect and link items taken in the burglary to him.

After conferring with county prosecutors, police charged Labrador for burglary during an emergency period, theft of credit card, and unlawful possession of confidential information. His total bail was set at $40,000.

Labrador was scheduled for his initial court appearance on April 12 in Hilo District Court.

Police want to remind the public that in light of Governor Ige’s current Covid-19 emergency proclamation, there are enhanced penalties for certain offenses, including, but not limited to, burglary, theft, criminal property damage, and robbery.
