Police Department Invites Public Participation in Community Satisfaction Survey

by Thunda

Hawai‘i Island — In an effort to enhance community relations and improve police services, Hawai‘i Police Chief Benjamin Moszkowicz is encouraging residents to participate in the department’s Community Satisfaction Survey, which will be open from Saturday, February 1, 2025, until 4:00 p.m. on February 28, 2025.

The biennial survey is a vital component of the department’s national accreditation process, aimed at ensuring the highest quality of police service on Hawai‘i Island. Chief Moszkowicz emphasizes the importance of public feedback in shaping the department’s future initiatives.

“We are committed to providing the highest quality police service to our communities here on Hawai‘i Island,” he stated. “The feedback we receive from the public through this survey is a key element of gauging our success and identifying areas for improvement.”

After the survey period concludes, the department pledges to analyze the collected data and will share the results on their official website, continuing a tradition of transparency.

“It is only through honest communication that we have any hope of continuing to improve the department and the community,” Chief Moszkowicz added.

The survey, which is designed to be anonymous, can be accessed via the department’s website at Hawai‘i Police Department Community Satisfaction Survey or directly through SurveyMonkey. Participants will encounter a combination of multiple-choice questions and open-ended prompts, providing an opportunity to express individual thoughts and insights regarding the police department’s performance.

The department believes that its effectiveness is closely tied to the confidence and cooperation of the community it serves. By comparing this year’s results with those from previous surveys, the police department aims to identify both successes and areas needing further attention. Residents are encouraged to take a few moments to contribute to this important initiative, reinforcing the partnership between the Hawai‘i Police Department and the community it serves.
