Police Renew Plea for Information on Missing Elderly Man William Bishop Sr.

Kea‘au, Hawai‘i — The Hawai‘i Police Department is once again appealing to the public for information regarding the disappearance of 76-year-old William Romeo Bishop Sr., who was last seen on January 22, 2023. Bishop was reportedly last spotted near his home on 22nd Avenue in the Hawaiian Paradise Park Subdivision, Kea‘au, and has not been heard from since.

Bishop’s family remains deeply concerned for his safety and is offering a cash reward for any information that could help locate him.

Description of William Bishop Sr.:

  • Age: 76
  • Height: 5 feet 8 inches
  • Weight: 170 pounds
  • Complexion: Light
  • Hair: Gray
  • Eyes: Green

Bishop’s 2019 Toyota Corolla has already been recovered, but his whereabouts remain unknown. Detectives from the Area I Criminal Investigation Division have conducted numerous interviews and followed up on leads over the past two years but have yet to resolve the case.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about Bishop’s disappearance to contact the police department’s non-emergency line at (808) 935-3311.

Captain Rio Amon-Wilkins of the Area I Criminal Investigation Division is overseeing the investigation, which continues under Report No. 23-007736.

The police and Bishop’s family are hopeful that renewed public attention will bring new leads in the search for William Bishop Sr.
