Police Seek Information Regarding Kona Assault

Hawai‘i Island police are investigating an assault that occurred on Friday, December 3, 2021, around 10:25 p.m. on Henry Street in Kailua-Kona. The incident stemmed from a confrontation regarding the operation of a motor vehicle and may have initially been perceived to be a traffic accident.

Anyone who may have information on this incident is encouraged to contact Detective Tyler Prokopec at (808) 326-4646 Ext. 224; or via email at tylerprokopec@hawaiicounty.gov. They may also contact the police department’s non-emergency number at (808) 935-3311.

Citizens who wish to remain anonymous can make an anonymous tip through the island wide Crime Stoppers at (808) 961-8300 and be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000. Crime Stoppers does not record any calls or subscribe to caller ID.
