Nā‘ālehu, Hawai’i Island – Hawai’i Island police are asking for the public’s help in locating 23-year-old Kaleo Mello of Nā‘ālehu, who is wanted on two outstanding arrest warrants. The warrants stem from a burglary and operating a stolen vehicle, both of which occurred in 2024, according to police report No. 24-037432.

Mello is described as being 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing approximately 170 pounds, with blue eyes and brown hair. Authorities indicate he is known to frequent the Green Sands subdivision in Nā‘ālehu.

The Hawai’i Police Department is urging the public to exercise caution and not approach Mello, as he is considered armed and dangerous. Instead, anyone who spots him or has information about his whereabouts is asked to contact police immediately.

Police are also reminding the public that harboring or concealing a wanted person is a crime and could result in criminal charges.

Anyone with information on Kaleo Mello’s location is encouraged to contact Detective Donovan Kohara at (808) 960-3118 or via email at donovan.kohara@hawaiicounty.gov. You can also contact the police department’s non-emergency number at (808) 935-3311.

For those who wish to remain anonymous, tips can be submitted to Crime Stoppers at (808) 961-8300. Crime Stoppers does not record calls or use caller ID, and tipsters may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to Mello’s arrest.
