Police Seek Suspect In Burglary Investigation

Detectives with Hawai‘i Police Department’s Area I Criminal Investigation Section are requesting the public’s assistance with identifying the suspect of a burglary that occurred during the early morning hours of Thursday, October 10, 2024, in Hilo.

At approximately 2:40 a.m. on October 10, South Hilo patrol officers responded to a report of an alarm at a business located in the 400 block of Manono Street. Officers determined that a lone male suspect unlawfully entered the business, and once inside removed numerous items of merchandise and fled the scene.

The suspect was captured on video surveillance within the business.

Anyone with information relative to the burglary suspect is encouraged to call the police department’s non-emergency number at (808) 935-3311. They may also contact Detective Kimo Keli‘ipa‘akaua at (808) 961-2375 or via email at kimo.keliipaakaua@hawaiicounty.gov.

Citizens who wish to remain anonymous can make an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers at (808) 961-8300 and be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000. Crime Stoppers does not record any calls or subscribe to caller ID.
