Police Seek Suspect in Kailua-Kona Weapons Incident

Kailua-Kona, Hawaiʻi – Hawaiʻi Island police are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a male suspect involved in an alleged weapons incident that occurred on Thursday, August 27, 2025, at approximately 6:50 p.m. in the area of Hualalai Road.

According to a 26-year-old male victim, he was approached by a male party who allegedly brandished a small folding knife and demanded money. The suspect then fled the area on foot.

The victim described the suspect as a light-skinned Caucasian male, approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall, with a thin build, and weighing about 155 lbs. He has light brown curly hair and short brown and white facial hair. At the time of the incident, the suspect was reportedly wearing a gray baseball cap, a dark-colored shirt with yellow writing that says “Tap 808” on the front, black shorts, and dark-colored shoes.
