Prosecutors Offices Charges Kona Man for Robbery, Kidnapping, and Abuse Offenses Bail set at $127k

Today, Prosecuting Attorney Kelden Waltjen announced that a Kona man, 37-year-old Grant Marshall, was charged with seven offenses related to a daytime domestic incident at the Hilo Walmart parking lot on April 26, 2021.
As the Complaint alleges, Marshall was charged with Robbery in the First Degree, Kidnapping, Unauthorized Control of Propelled Vehicle in the First Degree, Abuse of Family of Household Member, Resisting an Order to Stop Motor Vehicle in the First Degree, Operating a Vehicle After License Suspended or Revoked for Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence of an Intoxicant, and Reckless Driving. He remains in custody in lieu of $127,000.00 bail.
Marshall is scheduled to make his initial appearance on Tuesday in Hilo District Court. The lead investigators are Officers Sheldon Adviento, Sean-Tyler Kepoo, and Joshua Rodby-Tomas of South Hilo Patrol, Hawai‘i Police Department. The case is being prosecuted by Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Heipua Ah Loy.
The charges are merely allegations, and the Defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
