Puna Interagency Warrant Sweep Results in Nine Arrests

Nine wanted individuals were arrested for a total of 10 outstanding warrants and other crimes during an interagency warrant sweep consisting of officers from the Hawai‘i Police Department, Hawaii State Sheriff’s Department, and the Department of Land and Natural Resources that was conducted in Puna on Wednesday, May 25, 2022. The warrants were for contempt of court and violating conditions of bail.

During the warrant sweep, officers also recovered a motor vehicle with drug paraphernalia and arrested the lone occupant, Christopher Asagra, for third-degree promotion of a dangerous drug.
