Hawai‘i Island police were able to keep a substantial amount of dangerous drugs off the streets after the arrest of a Puna man.
Officers from the Area 1 Vice Section arrested and charged Jordan Kaneshiro with numerous drug offenses following the execution of a narcotics search warrant at a residence in the Ainaloa subdivision in Pahoa on Monday, February 8, 2021.
During the search of the residence, police recovered just under a pound of methamphetamine (425.4 grams), 0.4 grams of heroin, and various drug paraphernalia items. The methamphetamine has a street value of more than $21,000. Officers also recovered $2,840 in cash from the property.
Kaneshiro was charged with two counts of promotion of a dangerous drug in the first degree, two counts of promotion of a dangerous drug in the third degree, and drug paraphernalia. His bail was set at $120,000. Kaneshiro remains in custody pending his initial court appearance, scheduled for Wednesday, February 10, in South Hilo District Court.
